Book of ThohT
Designed in the Central California Sierras in 1969, and published
as a folio of prints in Berkeley in 1970, the Book of Thoht
is a prime example of psychedelic art. Of the 26, 10 X 12 inch
prints, 22 reflect the Major Arcana of the Tarot. During the
Psychedelic Sixties in Berkeley and San Francisco, Tarot images
were often used as meditational tools to plumb the depths of
consciousness, and Thompsons’ prints, posters and books
were frequently used during psychedelic and meditational rituals
during that radical and colorful era.
This limited edition of 333 folios of prints made back in
that unforgettable time, are now being released, and are available
to collectors of this genre of art. Each folio is signed and
numbered and is accompanied by a printed description of each
image. In keeping with our philosophy and economic theme of
60’s in the 90’s , the price of this offering is
only $96.69.
Our prices far below auction value...
In October 1997 in San Francisco, the auction house of Butterfield & Butterfield
presented a catalog of Sixties artwork by the most prominent
of the Sixties poster artists. Thompsons original black and
White pen and ink drawings sold for between $800 and $1,000,
reflecting the current interest and market value for his designs.
We are able to offer a selection of his best color paintings
and his black and white originals from the Sixties and early
Seventies, at prices considerably less than their market value.
